TAKE THIS JOB... (2003)
Episode Thirteen "Pet Passions"
People who spend their lives working with animals that many of us consider part of the family.
This episode of Take This Job... profiles those who spend their lives working with animals that many of us consider part of the family - our pets.
On a daily basis Linda Clark runs a doggy spa and resort in Oklahoma, but she is also one of the nations top dog handlers - competing in the dog show circuit every weekend. Pet Passions follows Linda and her 12 year-old daughter Kimberly to Texas as they show their own and their client's dogs, hoping for "best in show".
Pet Passions also follows two Vermonters with a very different dedication to animals. Joanne Tetens and Bob Wendell run a small animal and equine veterinary surgery practice.
They spend each day on call for vet emergencies that can crop up at a moment's notice. Their skills mean life or death for the animals that come into their office. In one very busy day, we follow them as they struggle to help a dog that has been eating rocks, and then go into a marathon surgery to save a prize show horse.
