TAKE THIS JOB... (2003)
Episode One "Catch 'Em If You Can"
The people who make money by hunting human prey for the price on their heads.
In Honolulu, Hawaii, Dog the bounty hunter hustles to catch fugitives and save their souls on the big island, while in Los Angeles the "stalkerazzi" photographers of the Bauer-Griffin paparazzi agency risk life, limb, and speeding tickets to get lucrative shots of celebrities in the city of angels.
Duane "Dog" Chapman served time in a Texas penitentiary for his participation in a murder 25 years ago. He vowed to redeem himself and found his calling on the right side of the law. As a bounty hunter, he has captured over 6,000 fugitives, and his past has inspired him to help as many as possible to go straight. He and his bailbondsman partner and wife, Beth, spend an emotional and physical roller coaster day going after five new bailjumping fugitives, including a 345 lb cocaine dealer, and a young vandal who brings out Dog's soft side.
In LA, there's a different type of hunt taking place. Randy Bauer and Frank Griffin run one of the world's top paparazzi agencies. Today, two of their top photographers, Ben Evanstaad and Ge San Jose, are racing from celebrity sighting to celebrity stakeout in search of exclusive photos to bring in the big money shot. Ben, who honed his skills selling celebrity autographs in college, bounces from a fruitless stakeout of Cameron Diaz's house to a hot pursuit of Madonna's motorcade. Ge, who learned many of his "stalkerazzi" skills as a teenage gang member on the streets of LA, is on the J.Lo and Ben Affleck beat. He stakes out J. Lo's compound, tails her to the home of her personal trainer, and then snaps covert shots of Affleck on a movie set. The agency hits pay dirt in the evening when a hot tip leads Ben to a restaurant that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are leaving. The photos he takes lead to a bidding war that Randy and Frank play into a $25,000 sale.
